I'm so excited, because today I’m launching my 5-Day Career Comeback Challenge. I’ve put together this free mini-training programme for women who feel daunted at the prospect of relaunching their careers, to give them the confidence and clarity they’re missing.
Does that sound of value to you? If you choose to take part, over the five days you’ll work on boosting your confidence and career clarity, so you’re in the perfect mindset for your jobsearch, then move on to writing compelling CVs and cover letters. Next you’ll set up a professional LinkedIn profile and finally, get interview ready. It’s an actionable, step-by-step, mini-training to get into the perfect position to find a job you’ll love.

The Challenge is delivered to your inbox over five days, but you can work through it at your own pace, spending an hour or so on each day’s activity. Interested? Here’s more detail:
How does it Work?
Sign up and you'll get a welcome message, followed by five daily emails that will walk you through how to kickstart your career with oomph. On each day there'll be a short podcast to guide you through that day’s activity. There's a transcript of the podcast provided too if you prefer to read rather than listen, plus links to other resources to support you and show you how to dive deeper, if you choose to.
Your challenge on Day 1 is to focus on, and deal with, what might get in the way of a confident and ambitious return to fulfilling work. After taking a career break, it's natural for confidence to dip and for you to underestimate what you have to offer. On Day 1 we take steps to make sure you aren't holding yourself back unintentionally. The podcast talks you through three activities designed to help you boost your confidence and positivity, ready for your jobsearch.
“Focus on, and deal with, what might get in the way of a confident and ambitious return to fulfilling work”
The second day is all about working out which types of roles to go for. You might already have a clear idea of what you want to do. Most women returners, however, tell me they struggle with this. They know they want to relaunch their career, but often working out what that could look like isn't easy.
Your priorities have most likely changed now you’ve had kids, and you might not want or feel you can go back to the same type of job you did before your gap. If you want to make a career change, Day 2 of the Challenge will help you find clarity on what you can – or would love – to do. You’ll come to understand what motivates you and what your strengths are, so you can work out what types of roles and organisations will be a good fit for you.
This stage of the Challenge is focused on how to create a professional and compelling CV, all ready to go. I break it up into easy, totally actionable steps for you, including how to position your career break. We work through five key stages:
1. A skills and achievements audit
2. How to format your CV
3. Positioning your career break
4. Writing a killer personal statement
5. Writing a career break cover letter.
I've put together CV and cover letter Word templates to make it even easier for you.

On Day 4 you crack LinkedIn. If you aren't on the platform already, no need to stress, we'll be walking one baby step a time through how to set up a professional profile. If you have an old profile that's gathering dust, fantastic, we'll dust it off and give it a buff up. Intimidated by LinkedIn? My clients often are. They feel like it's not the place for them because they aren't in a career job, but those fraudulent thoughts mean they are missing out.
LinkedIn is a social network that's a powerful, free, way to find jobs, network and kickstart a rewarding career, whether you're in work or not. There are lots of people on there just like you, finding out about opportunities you're not even aware of. Many jobs are only ever advertised on LinkedIn and over 24 million people are on the platform. So it can be a game changer.

By the end of today's challenge, you'll have a professional profile. You'll be clear about how to use LinkedIn to max your chances of finding a job that will get you going back to work with a spring in your step.
On the last day of the Challenge we look at how to prepare and perform well in interviews. Scary thought? Don't worry, by the end of Day 5 you'll be prepared for the opportunities that will be coming your way. The secret to performing well in interviews is preparation, preparation, preparation. I walk you through what to expect from an interview and how to give yourself the best possible chance to impress.

In just five days you'll build up the confidence and momentum to successfully kickstart your career. You will have to work it at and step outside of your comfort zone, but if you are prepared to show up, I know you will reap rewards from this. Invest your time in energy in this and it will give you everything you need to start your job search and relaunch your career boldly, and get back to doing fulfilling work, on your terms.
